Today I paid another visit to Camelon Cemetery, Falkirk. Dating from the 1870s, the oldest parts of the cemetery contain and impressive variety of headstones, typical of the late Victorian and early 20th Century. It was during today’s visit I learned of brothers Alexander and David Buchanan. Influenza is recorded on both their death registrations. Both died young, aged 21 and 33 consecutively, a double-barreled bereavement for their families, which, tragically, was relatively common
